We are located at the New York Genome Center, a rapidly growing basic and clinical research institute in lower Manhattan. Our lab has close ties with other groups in the New York area, particularly those run by Tuuli Lappalainen at NYGC, Yaniv Erlich at NYGC, Molly Przeworksi at Columbia, and Guy Sella at Columbia. See here for our lab meeting/journal club schedule.
We are actively recruiting a postdoc to be jointly supervised by Joe and Yaniv Erlich. This postdoc will work in the general field of computational analysis of complex traits using large human genetics datasets, though the precise project will depend on the interests of the postdoc.
In general, postdoctoral applicants should have a quantitative background and/or extensive experience with genomic data analysis. Demonstrated strong programming and bioinformatics skills are essential. Postdocs will have extensive freedom to choose their own projects and work independently. Informal inquiries to Joe Pickrell (jkpickrell@) are encouraged.
We accept students through the doctoral program at the Department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University. Pre-application inquiries are welcome.
